" I really do love the blues and I listen to all forms of the music. Often times though, when I tell people we are a blues band I fear they have a preconception that all blues sounds the same and therefore I feel they have a misconception about us.

I thought I would take a moment and clarify what this band is really all about.

    First off, we are not  'delta blues'. We use electricity. In my definition, that removes us from this category. The wonderful sounds of Robert Johnson or Leadbelly come to mind as  examples of this type.

    We are not really 'Chicago blues'. When most of us think about the Chicago sound we think of the clean (that's un- overdriven) guitar sounds of Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Bobby Bland and such. While we do touch on this in a few tunes...it is not our primary style.

    The AJM Band is a 'contemporary (modern) blues' band.

I like to refer to us as 'rockin' blues' or 'blues on steroids'. Our sound would more ressemble that of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and maybe the current sounds of Buddy Guy and Koko Taylor (yes some artists are able to evolve with the times!).

        The AJM Band is not really a 'cover' band. We enjoy playing classics for you ....but we don't necessarily try to sound just like the original artist. My primary reason for playing is definetly the promotion of my own music. It is my hope though that if we turn you on, you will go back and listen to some of the greats that have inspired us and you will then be turned on to them as well.

    We play fast songs, we play slow songs, we play songs you can dance to, and hopefully some that move you in other ways.

    Lastly I'll touch on the use of 'guitar effects'....I don't use them.    I don't use them because I don't need to.

Enough said.....

    So come out and rock the blues with us...hopefully you have as much fun as we do!!".
